Mentor
When picking a mentor, I thought about who could help me be motivated and creative with my project. My junior year English teacher was the perfect fit for such a thing. In addition, it was easy for me to meet with her as I was a teacher's assistant in her AP class. She helped me to brainstorm and visit the many topics I found myself struggling to pick between. I'm grateful to have had such a high-spirited mentor who helped me to visualize the ideas I had and provided me with ways I could bring my ideas to life.

Data
I felt the best way to know what the students at Career felt, and knew, about climate change was to ask them directly. With a short Google Forms survey, I collected about 200 responses. With this data, I was able to pinpoint, to a certain extent, what students needed more information on if they were misinformed, and how I could help.

Modeling, Prototyping, and Testing
The way I informed students about their role in the issue of climate change was through a presentation. I met up with the Environmental Club at my school and presented them with a lesson on carbon footprints. Although only a couple of students were present at first, many others began to roll in later on, and I was able to share my knowledge with a good number of students. I gave them a chance to calculate their own, passed around pamphlets giving a simple breakdown of the issue, and did a mini activity to help them differentiate human activities with the greatest carbon emissions.
