This week I was able to reach out to my aunt's Doctor friends. After lots and lots of scheduling conflicts, we have finally made a date. We are meeting on March 30th.

I was able to get a smoke pen from amazon but unfortunately the product didnt work. I have sent it back to amazon. I was talking to my neighbor and he said that he uses smoke pens and knows a place that I can get good ones from. Because of COVID-19 I had to call to schedule an appointment. I did not get through to them but I am trying again tomorrow.

I finally finished my digital prototype! It took a lot of work with many setbacks but after talking to teachers at school and watching many youtube videos, I finally finished.

I tested my model dome today! I started off by using the dry ice and it worked although you are not able to see it in the video. My mom mentioned youing small incense balls which would let off smoke. the incense also worked! I am working on a video to show my tests.

I picked up the Dry Ice! I was able to drive to Brookfield to get a bag of dry ice from Air Gas. The workers there gave me info on handling the dry ice and gifted me gloves and goggles for the project. I am going to test the dry ice tomorrow!

Today I meet with Susan Solinsky and Dr. Alisson Gover who both work in geriatrics. in the past year that has worked a lot with COVID-19 patients. I asked them questions about COVID in their workplace and how they try to prevent contamination and what they see people do that are wrong. They told me a lot about COVID but one concern that they both stressed was that people are too close and they need to have pure air. After I explained my project to them they said that I have addressed the problem of fresh flowing air. #communication #COVID-19 #collaberation

Last week I went to the company reign in Southbury CT go get my smoke pen from my small-scale model. Although while I was there they shared some concerns with the pen. The pens are to test smoke detectors so if we were in an enclosed building the fire alarm will go off. after much discussion I decided to not use the smoke pen but instead buy ice pellets. I am going to the store Airgas in Brookfield Ct to get ice pelets. Hopefully, they will work.

Today I talked to my aunt Dr.Rohini Becherl who is a Geriatric Medicine Specialist. I asked her if she had any doctor friends who are specialists in COVID-19. She told me that she will talk to a couple of her doctor friends to see if they would be willing to help me out! #Family #Collaberation #Communication

Today I was able to talk to Doug Boyd who works at UCC Southbury. We talked a lot about airflow and he helped me figure out the changes per hour in my dome. He also helped me with my prototype. I told him that I was going to be creating a mini model of my product and was having trouble showing how it was going to work. He mentioned using smoke pens or smoke candles. I just ordered them on amazon so they should be coming soon! #Reachingout #collaberation #communication

Today I was able to experiment on a mini prototype of my dome. I was able to get some supplies from the dollar store to do a quick mini model. In the video, I am burning plastic as I have to make cutouts in my plastic bowl which I am using as a dome for the time being. The cutouts are for the fans to attach to the dome.

Today I ordered 2 mini blow fans that are used in inflatable dinosaur costumes for my mini model. I will be making holes for them to be on either side of the dome. I am still looking for a fan that would work for the top of the dome. #Shopping #Reaserch #amazon

Last week I wasn't able to work that much on the project as I had a very hectic schedule. Although I was able to reach out to some architects and asking them if they could be my mentor. Fingers crossed if they respond!

I am almost done with my initial research! I am getting as much information about Domes as I can. Four topics I have really been focused on researching is Domes in general, Airflow, Materials, and COVID- 19 regulations. As I was researching I found a martial that would be good to use for the dome that looks promising!
