To date: No known competitor's product is available specifically for mitigating stress and distraction for a driver.
Other products fit the category of "hand held fidget devices" and are not similar enough to our design to be considered a competitor. They require the user to dedicate one hand to operate it, leaving the driver with only one hand free to use the steering wheel.

We appear to be a niche product.

The 2021 Theme is "Reimagine"

Our engineering team has re-imagined the driving experience. We envision a driver who is more focused, calm, and less impacted by distractions while driving. The East Haven Engineering Team has re-imagined a world in which there are fewer automobile deaths and injuries due to stress, fatigue and distraction.

The FCUS Wheel Adapter is a viable product idea. The adapter is universal, easy to install, simple to operate, and has no current market competitors. We are excited to see how this product develops into the future. We hope to get it into the hands of those who want a less stressful driving experience.

CARS CAN KILL. Driving an automobile is a multi-sensory process that requires an enormous amount of executive functioning. Stress, fatigue, inexperience, and distractions are some of the reason that car accidents, injuries and fatalities are on the rise.

New drivers, new roads, stress and fatigue can create a vicious cycle of distraction. Drivers don't typically have many options for reducing stress when things get tense. Traditional options have included avoiding stressful areas such as highways, listening to music, or even pulling off the road to gain composure.

Stress and distracted driving leads to injured motorists, pedestrians even death.

The FCUS Wheel Adapter is both innovative and creative. Currently stress, distraction, and fatigue while driving are mitigated with very limited options. Pulling over to rest, listening to music, or simply changing when someone drives.
The FCUS Wheel Adapter allows the driver to choose when the product is used. If they anticipate particularly stressful driving conditions, a high likelihood of being distracted or fatigued are all situations in which our product shines.
The adapter is universal, mates with the steering wheel quickly and simply, and allows a driver the use of both hands to maximize operator control.

All drivers regardless of their age or driving experience are sharing the road with more drivers than any other time in human history.
Life moves fast. People aren't always 100% focused on the road ahead of them, or those around them. Driving is stressful and requires a lot of executive functioning and focus. Currently, no product exists with the sole purpose of helping drivers cope with on road stress and distractions. Calm and focused drivers make better drivers. Less stress, more focus will reduce the number of automobile injuries and fatalities.
