Community outreach
Due to COVID-19 circumstances I could not physically engage with the community. Providing a virtual community launch, I shared my project with citizens and received initial feedback.

Learning Stretch
I am very excited to continue many aspects of my project but there are some struggles that have served as a learning experience. To start, I am not a good planner. I have always kept a loose schedule for myself. However with a passion for such a big project I have learned the importance of sitting down and budgeting my time. I struggled with stepping away from the design elements of my project to create a business platform for my ideation, I learned to set time apart for creating important business analyzes such as a SWOT and PEST. These helped me when I was developing my business plan because they define the market climate that I am entering with future skies and addresses the potential competitors that I will be sharing this space with. At first I was afraid of taking on the business plan but the struggle really tested my motivation.
Professionalism
Going through the process of creating an architectural firm aiming to improve the quality of life of individuals through design, professionalism was an important pillar to making this a viable project. Two traits in particular come to mind. The first reliability, in every project take on I stay dedicated to helping the product become a reality. Surprising enough with the only person who was relying on my work was myself it was more of a struggle. However in the finishing stages of my project I have learned the important of reliability in Professionalism. The second is competence, when I would find myself in a slump, I remember the importance of competence and maintaining a motivated demeanor in approaching my project. I also applied this to the communication aspect of my project, for example, meeting with my mentor.
Connections
Skills 21 has been a channel for my ideation and creativity to grow as well as a learning opportunity to improve my communication and collaboration. As I continue the Capstone progress this year, I have seen connections to my long past with the academy.
With the Chem 21 project last year I was not proud of the work we produced and I knew we could have been more motivated to produce a more creative idea. With all the things that have happened to the expo this year, I find myself in a slump. I have channeled my lesson from lasts year's project to push through.
I have had confidence in my design aspect of the project, when designing and testing for Vortex NRG and Merge Master, I found myself constantly troubleshooting and improving. As I have hit bumps in the road, I have reflected on my experience to produce the present.
I have felt comfortable with my several years of experience with expo booths and launchpad. However coming onto the platform this year, the drastic changes left me with some questions. I eventually was able to start updating the tabs based on my Capstone Experience midterm criteria and this was a fairly long process. Adapting to new Skills developments and changing my website host to Wix connects back to many curve balls I have experienced since our freshman year project.
While populating my launchpad, I was curious about what it would look like with the video implemented. I uploaded my ten cube challenge from my freshman year’s skills 21 projects. Highlighting my past lessons in the academy, I think I’ll keep my stellar penguin.
My project has been connected to life experiences as well, spending time away from home, while working at a nature preservation camp, I knew that I wanted to work on something that would benefit the environment. I also knew that I wanted to work on improving the quality of life for people. This desire was created when I participated in community service projects within the islands of Fiji.
