Project Idea
Audience
My audiences are major cities and the city planners and designers that are focused on infrastructure. My company also attempts to appeal to those who are going to be affected by the buildings that I design; the citizens.
Breaking Boundaries
My Project addresses the theme of breaking boundaries by tackling a problem that hasn't had a real solution or focus even with the growing population of urban zones. It Breaks the mindset of pushing off large projects by patching them up with 'quick fixes' that last a short period of time.
Concept
The concept of my project is to improve the quality of life for everyone through design. My project should also inspire others to see what they can make to help people in their own communities. It doesn't have to be large, but bringing about the ideals of community-driven projects creates a better environment for all.

Validation through research
Attached is my initial research for this project. It has some basic questions that I answered to prove that there was a market for this type of company.

Inspiration
My ideation started before the school year did. Spending time away from home, the summer brought much for inspiration of topics, but few real ideas. While working at a nature preservation camp, I knew that I wanted to work on something that would benefit the environment. I also knew that I wanted to work on improving the quality of life for people. This desire was created when I participated in community service projects within the islands of Fiji. Heading back to school I wasn't quite sure how to implement these ideals into one project because they seem so different. As I was brainstorming with my peers, I was thinking of places in the U.S. where the quality of life is fairly low. One of the big ones that came to mind were cities, especially regions with sub-par public transportation. Eventually one question came to mind that birthed my entire project. “Do you think that the people who built the subway stations a hundred years ago thought that they would still be there, or did they think that it would be updated to accommodate for future technology?”
