Professionalism
I have acquired the skill to be a public speaker, writer, and a positive role model to the community. Through out my project I have written blog posts, shared videos pitching Growing Together, and ultimately being someone's big sister through the tough times. I have been well spoken about the issues I have been addressing, and my writing is "formal", fitting the needs of the specific audience being addressed.
Connections
While working on my capstone project, I have used skills that helped my classmates and I through our group projects the last three years. One of the biggest skills I've taken from past projects was how to separate my time for specific tasks. I have set guidelines for myself on how and when to complete projects. Another major skill I have learned from the Academy program was how to use and find the best websites -- especially since my project is very much researched based when it comes to the psychology.

Community Outreach
For the community outreach for my project, I reached out to people through social media and personal connections. I shared all three of my books through Facebook; explaining what Growing Together is, and what it stands for. Many users shared my post, and gave positive feedback and were happy that I shared my story -- because to some it was a story they could relate to.
I also shared To Grow Up Young, with high schoolers all around the East Coast and California. These teens were able to learn about a new point of view and surprisingly, some could relate to my story.
All the feedback and responses can be found on my website, under the tab "My Books" at the bottom of the page.

Learning Stretch
The learning stretch has been intense, and definitely one to remember! From the start, working alone instead of the group setting has been quite a challenge; I have learned to work on topics that I did not during past projects. I learned how to do the best research I can as well. I have learned how to adapt to new situations, and adjust my project to new circumstances. The biggest change is learning how to change my community outreach, and the sharing of my books! The current pandemic has given me a fresh perspective on how to tackle problem solving and accomodation.
